About the Author - Tony Flood
Tony FloodTony Flood has spent most of his working life as a sports and leisure journalist on various national and regional papers.

Tony, formerly Controller of Information at Sky Television, Editor of Football Monthly magazine and Sports Editor of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph Series, retired as a journalist when he left national Sunday newspaper The People in 2010 and has since become an author.

His first book was a fantasy adventure called The Secret Potion, which was strongly recommended by actress June Whitfield and hailed as an ideal follow up to Harry Potter by author Jessica Duchen.

More recently, he has written 'tell all' celebrity book My Life With The Stars – Best, Ali and the Panties, featuring stories and anecdotes about the many big names he has interviewed from the worlds of show business and sport, followed by Triple Tease, a spicy crime thriller recommended by best selling authors Peter James and Tamara McKinley, actor Brian Capron and the SUN Newspaper's Stuart Pink.
Tony still plays football for a veterans club and edits books and writes theatre reviews for the Brighton Argus. In addition, he finds time to encourage other writers as President of Anderida Writers of Eastbourne.

George Best
His work as a leisure writer, critic and sports editor for the Richmond and Twickenham Times and Kentish Times Series saw him take on a variety of challenges – learning to dance with Strictly Come Dancing star Erin Boag, becoming a stand-up comedian and playing football with the late George Best and Bobby Moore.

Tony has interviewed some of the biggest names in entertainment and in the sporting world – including Muhammad Ali, Linda Gray, Britt Ekland, Frankie Howerd, Patsy Kensit, Petula Clark, Kate O'Mara, Joe Pasquale, Seb Coe, Sir Alex Ferguson, Sir Bobby Charlton, Sir Bobby Robson and top comedy writers Galton and Simpson. He was Bobby Moore's boss at the controversial Sunday Sport and got to play in charity matches with England's World Cup winning captain for a Sunday Sport All Stars XI.

Tony also interviewed a host of footballing icons when he was editor of Football Monthly, Britain's oldest soccer magazine.

In addition to editing other authors' work, ranging from amusing tales by Joan Cassie about her Giddy Aunt, (find it at Giddy Limits), to an autobiography by a Jewish war survivor entitled THE NAZIS - THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD, Tony also helps authors to get their work fast tracked in his role as New Authors Co-ordinator at My Voice Publishing.

Tony has dedicated his books to the memory of his parents Mabel and Dennis Flood and his grandparents Winnie and Reggie Burwash, who brought him up with so much love and kindness. They, together with his lovely wife Heather and son James, have been an inspiration to him as a writer.

Heather, who herself writes lovely stories for young children, (which you can see by visiting, came up with the original idea for The Secret Potion, while James, a graphic designer, produced the book cover and illustrations for the first edition of The Secret Potion. Special thanks go to publisher Rex Sumner of My Voice Publishing for his considerable efforts in steering the book through the choppy seas of production, printing and distribution, and with whom Tony has struck up an enjoyable personal and professional relationship.
